Why we exist
In 2019, a core group of Toastmasters saw a gap - there was no advanced club in the Division. They built one. The Maine Thing Advanced Toastmasters was chartered in October 2019 as a place for members who wanted to truly level up their Toastmasters experience, not just go through the motions.
We are the only advanced club in Maine, focused on the two skills that matter most in real life; impromptu speaking and effective evaluations.

2019
OCTOBER 2019
Chartered as the first - and only - advanced club in Division B, District 45
2020
EARLY 2020
First club in Division B to go fully virtual. When COVID arrived, we ere already experts - and helped guide other clubs in the Division and District through the transition.
21-22
2021-2022
Earned President's Distinguished Club status for the first time.

Despite the name, The Maine Thing isn't just from Maine. Our virtual format has attracted members from across North America - proof that great speaking development knows no borders.
